A Friday Hello!

Hi All! We’re back in civilization, and I’m in the process of organizing our photos. I’ll share a few once I’m done. The lake was beautiful beyond imagination, and the relaxation was a wonderful change. As much as technology is appealing, to be unplugged is a treasure!

For today, I thought of sharing some unusual flowers and bushes from our yard. #1 photo is of our first sunflower bloom, a red sunflower. Have you seen one of these before? #2 is our Abutilon bush with its orange/yellow blossoms, which is dearly loved by hummingbirds. We sit at our table on the patio and listen for their arrival, then watch them joyfully drink. #3 is our Butterfly bush showing off its gorgeous purple flowers, which yes, attracts butterflies. I have yet to catch a hummingbird or butterfly in a photo, though. Hopefully, someday soon. And lastly, here are some quotes from John Muir to take you into the weekend:

“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.”

“In every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks.”

“The world’s big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark.”

“The sun shines not on us but in us.”

I hope you’ve all been well. Doing some camping clean-up is on the weekend agenda, along with reading some blogs. 🙂

Happy Friday! ❤🌼🌻

A Charming Corner

The rockers, unselfish with their soothing rhythm,
join the sun’s rays in massaging into deep relaxation

It is only us who breathe in the simplicity of this place,
except for an occasional visit from stunning, fluttering wings

This moment, where a whispering breeze glides in-between us,
is where we talk and listen – but most of all, we take it all in

The feeling…

that someone is watching you while you’re reading
a can’t-be-put-down book. 🙂

You guessed it; he got my attention. He always does
because I can’t resist those eyes.

Gotta love Copper. ❤

Your presence
captivates

with awe-inspiring
magnificence

You shimmer from
the brilliance of
sun’s kiss,
a magical vision

Your purpose
conveys nothing
less than
significance

The equation of
all surroundings
offers a perfect
composition

Under the Redwood Tree

Under the redwood tree
a bee dives low
for the water…
heads go under

Arms and legs
move with grace –
we look up to the
bright blue sky
with a touch of white

Two crows speak
as if we understand
their urgency…
silence soon becomes them

Under the redwood tree
we breathe in serenity –
Lacing our fingers
we steal a kiss
and reminisce
to those earlier days
