Doorstep Kisses

Remember in those early years
how you’d touch your lips to mine
while standing on the step –
how we cold-shouldered time?

There was no letting-go desire
of the embrace that held us near
No care in the world came close
in that moment to what we shared

Who knew those goodnight kisses
would carry us this distance?
(floating in a state-of-mind
of tender reminiscence)

    1. Ahh, Sue, it sounds like your memories weren’t good ones. 😦 Some of mine weren’t either. But the ones I choose to remember were great and I married that guy. 🙂 Many hugs, my friend!

    1. Thanks, Michelle! I was thinking about those years when we were young and just starting out. It’s hard to believe that we’re close to celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. Where does the time go? 🙂 Anyway, I’m glad you have some memories, too, and I hope they’re good ones. Have a wonderful weekend! ❤

  1. “These stolen glances, doorstep kisses,
I don’t think I’ve ever felt like this
I don’t know what it is
    Please don’t stop me
    From falling
    It’s no love
    But it could be”

    1. It is very sweet, and I’m blessed to say that those memories turned into reality for me, and the same guy now 28 years later is still just as romantic. 😊 Thanks so much, Balroop, for your lovely comment. ❤️

    1. Thanks, Eric. I love those good memories, too, and Congrats on 36 years. That’s great! We’re heading to 29 in January, but then 30 years altogether. We’ll catch up with you someday. 😉 Have a great weekend!

    1. I’m glad you liked this one, Don. I began thinking of when my husband and I first started dating, then this poem began, as well. Take care, and thanks for all your visits! I appreciate them very much…
