Here’s the Scoop…

Dear Friends,

As most of you know, I took a three month break from blogging, and I have recently returned. I missed it, and I missed seeing all of you who have faithfully followed and supported me. I’ve taken many breaks throughout the past five years, so please know that I’m not crazy…But I have to be honest with myself in realizing that blogging just isn’t in me anymore. I’ve started slowly with college (which I snubbed soon after high school), but I’ll begin to take more classes each semester to finish earlier-or at least before I’m too old to walk across the stage-and if I do this, blogging won’t have a time slot. Honestly, writing poems is still on the back burner, but my next English class will involve creative writing and poetry, which might help stir up some inspiration.

So…I’m going to keep my blog open (for now), but I won’t be continuing to interact in the blog world. For five years, this blog has been a big part of my life, but I feel that part has run its course, and now a new chapter is evolving. I guess I won’t say that I’ll “never” return, but for now, it looks unlikely. I’m excited about my college journey, even in mid life, and I have officially decided to pursue an Associates Degree in English, and who knows, I may even go for a Bachelor’s! You’re never too old, right?

Anyway, that’s it, my honest feelings. I tried and gave it another shot, thinking that I would jump right back in like before, but things are different now. I’ve changed and so has life. I sincerely wish you all the best, and I’ll miss you.
So…Stay Safe, and Be Happy!

With Love, Hugs, and Blessings,
Lauren β™₯

  1. I earned my BA in English at 46, after 10 years of part time study and 2 very intense years of full time studies. It can be done and it is worth it. Worth every minute of the pain and difficulties.

as we in my shop, “go get ‘er done.”

  2. I have faith that you will always be successful in all you seek to pursue Lauren! You are specially gifted within your heart, and have an inspiring strength. You will write again just keep a notebook close by. Hugs to you dear sister…god bless you and your family!

  3. My dear Lauren, although I will miss the beauty you share, I understand exactly what you’re saying. I’ve also been on an on & off lately and been thinking of longer pauses. May you always find joy in everything you do, my dear friend. Much love – hugs and xxxxxxxxxxx

    • Thanks, Marina, and I’m glad to know I’m not alone in feeling this way. It’s hard to believe I’ve been blogging for five years, but it’s been great making wonderful friends like you! I wish you the same and you know I’m not far away if you ever want to chat. Sending hugs back and lots of love, too! β™₯ xo

    • Thanks so much, Jean! I’ll miss you, too, and your beautiful posts, but I’m glad you understand. I’ve been toying with this idea for awhile and unable to make a decision until now. Maybe I’ll do what you suggest, so I’ll give it some thought…take good care of you and your adorable puppy! xo

  4. As always, nice to read your thoughts, Lauren, although it is reflective of an au revoir note this time around. It looks like a little late in life for academics but I am happy it is happening in your case given the natural talent you already have for creative writing. Due to demands on your time, blogging may have to be on the back burner, either for short or long durations. Whether you choose to return or not, be assured that you have left your imprint as a lovely human being and a writer of fine sensitivities, which will be missed. Be well and progressing in all your endeavours….xxx.

    • Raj, what can I say? Your lovely comment warmed my heart, and I appreciate all you said. Yes, late for college, but I was inspired when my daughter graduated from community college in 2013. A woman in her 70’s held a diploma. However, fear, insecurity, wrong mindset, call it what you want, but I didn’t take the plunge at that time and two years later, I finally did. (I began last fall)
When I think of what I would have accomplished in those two years, I could kick myself. No point in doing that though; it’s just time to move forward, so that’s what I’m doing. Right out of high school, I was burned out with studying, so I went to work. I always regretted that decision, although now I don’t because the positive events in my life took place because of that decision. Anyway, thanks again, and it’s been great getting to know you, and I wish you all the best, too! xx

    • That’s true and who knows what will happen, but right now I’m leaning toward calling it quits. One friend suggested that I post an update occasionally, so I will give that some thought. But I just feel like it’s time to move on, and you know that I appreciate your friendship and all of your support, and you also know how to reach me. πŸ™‚ Many hugs back and take care of you, too! xx

  5. That’s too bad about your blog, and I’ll certainly miss you. But pursuing your dream is very important and even though it won’t be easy for you, I think you’ll be able to overcome any of the challenges it throws in your way. Good luck with your college career!

    • Thanks so much, Binky; I’ll miss you, too! But I do appreciate your encouragement (which I need lots of). πŸ™‚ I know I’ll see you and Wombies around, and all your support has meant a lot to me. Take care!

  6. Lauren, I am so excited for you. This next step is going to be so rewarding in the end. Take care, my dear friend. I will miss you, but will be happy you are following your dream. Love and hugs.

    • Thanks, Michelle! I wish I had done this years ago, but there’s a reason for every decision we make, so here I am. πŸ™‚ I’ll miss you, too, and it’s been wonderful getting to know you. Take care and many hugs and lots of love back to you! β™₯

  7. I wish you all the best, dear Lauren! πŸ™‚ Sad to see you go, but these are amazing opportunities and you should definitely do what makes your happy and follow your dreams! Indeed, you’re never too old πŸ™‚
Lots of love and hugs! ❀ Iris

  8. Enjoy the college journey. The excitement of achieving your first degree is inspiring. I remember taking college courses in my 40’s and loved the butterflies that swirled in my tummy at going back to school. Thank you for many fabulous poetry. Hope to see you soon. Jus keep us posted on the journey. XO

    • It’s so good to see you, Cathy, and thanks for your encouragement! So far, I’m enjoying this journey, and hopefully the enjoyment will continue, even through general ed. I’m not fond of. πŸ™‚ Hope to see you sometime when we’re visiting Susie, too. Thanks again! xoxo

  9. I guess you know just how on board with this I am, too, at the moment! May you do exactly as you wish, when you wish, and not more or other!!!! And my darling, you *know* that I will say there’s *no* age at which one’s too old to go to school. I am so proud, impressed, and delighted for you, doing what your heart desires and with such commitment. Only curiosity and the education that fulfills its needs and desires can come anywhere close to love for enriching the soul and life. Long may you wave! You’ll keep living in my heart no matter whether you get the itch to visit in blogging or other correspondence or not; I hope you’ll always know what a positive impact meeting you has had, and will always have, on my life.

    Yours ever, with loud huzzahs!
    Kath
