Friend

FRIENDSHIP

If I need a place
to rest my mind
will you lend a shoulder
for just a little time?

If I need to shed
concerns and talk
can I call you up
regardless of the clock?

If I need a hug
to feel some warmth
will you offer protection
from the storm?

Thank you, my friend,
for your loving support
for your uplifting smiles
and your unselfish heart

  1. Oh this is beautiful Lauren; it!s the elegant but soft simplicity of these words that has brought a tear to my eye. Being a true friend can have such a positive impact on lives, we all need to be one! And you deinitely are!!! ❤ XxxHBL

    • Aww..Chris, your comment brings a tear to my eye, too, thank you, my friend! I’ll always be here for you, even though miles away, and you’ve already been there for me in times of talking and I appreciate it very much. Many hugs and much love to you! ♥

  2. So sweet. Love your poem too. REAL friends are treasures and hard to find. Stephen King was right, you never really have friends like you did in high school, later in life. At least that’s been my experience. My high school pals and I would have done anything for each other. I miss that. 😦

Hope you have a great weekend Lauren!

PS: My book launch post is now up, woo hoo..I’m in marketing mode now. 🙂

    • Thanks so much, Geraldine…ironically, I’m still in touch with two friends from h.s. It’s amazing that we’ve kept in touch all these years and were in each others weddings! 🙂 We’re not close geographically, but we still email, talk on the phone and fb, so it’s all good! I see some truth, though, to your words. It’s tougher to make friends as we get older…you have a great weekend, too, and Big Congrats for your book. That’s so exciting and I’m very happy for you!

Your thoughts are welcome!
