Clouds are welcomed
when my eyes tire
of the sun and
their tears soothe
my soul, while inside
staying warm
but sometimes
they exude
uncertainty in
the night
their color
becomes blurry
with no vision
in sight
I much
rather prefer
my world
in
black
and
white

Your words are very soothing. Love it.
Thanks so much, Kim…many hugs!
Black and white ? When we were kids, Mrs. Wier down the block had the first color TV in the neighborhood. Imagine. A color TV just like at the movies right there in here own living room! Once a week she’d let us all in to watch batman. What a thrill. I too am going to buy a color TV. One of these days.
I hope you get that colored t.v. soon, Carl! π
How true, Lauren…sometimes I also do wish only for Black and White when uncertainties cloud my world, and colors become a distraction.
Many hugs and blessings dear sis!
I’m glad I’m not alone, Cynthia, and hugs and blessings back to you, too! xoxo
Perception can be blinded, but those of us with limited vision are happy for whatever we can see. π
That’s true, Sandy, thanks for sharing another perspective! π
Beautifully worded Lauren, not one overspill of words, but all neatly bound to depict this strong emotion. Wonderful β€ xxHBL
Thanks for all of your kind words, Chris! HBL β₯ xoxo
Lovely poem, Lauren…as always!
There is more black and white to the world than many think. It’s called right or wrong, and there is no in between.
Hug xoxo
Thanks, Deb, and i love your perspective of black and white, too. My personal view is that black and white is clear, concrete, there is no gray area to knowing what’s going on. I think you know what I’m talking about…but it just goes to show us how words can be perceived in so many different ways…love and hugs to ya! xoxo
A delicately melancholy piece, Lauren. Very lovely. XO β₯
Thanks, Diane, for your lovely words! Many hugs and blessings to you! xoxo

Doing great over here so far π
Good to hear and I’ll be over there soon, too! π
Yay!!!
Black and White – so much more easier than shades of grey or colours. But then again, how much more will I miss – the beauty of nature, the sunrise and sunset, the rolling meadows, the brilliant blooms of your love – your lips and eyes – how much more to —
Well, I wouldn’t want to miss anything in color, but I do better “living” in black and white where things are clearer. I don’t do well “living” in gray, which is where we’re at in a certain situation…that’s where my inspiration came from, Eric. But, I wouldn’t want to miss colors of beauty for anything and I love your perspective! Thanks and hugs!
I love this poem..
What a good start for a come back, Lauren
I love this line, “Clouds are welcomed when my eyes tire of the sun and their tears soothe my soul.” I could feel the emotion you were trying to express from there.
Lovely written there
I am excited to read more…
Aww…thanks very much, Eve, for all of your kind words! I appreciate your visits and following, too, and hope you continue to enjoy!
Beautiful …perception, Lauren. π
Thanks, Marina, for your beautiful comment! π xx
I can sit inside your words, applying them to different situations I have lived through.
What a complement! Thanks so much, Steve, and that line…I can sit inside your words…is something I wish I had written! π Thank you so much! Have a great evening!
Black + white = Gray, whether we like it or not, doesn’t it?
I didn’t think of it that way and I don’t think many did, so it’s amazing how there can be so many different “perceptions” to poetry! Thanks so much for your feedback, Lindy! π
