Roller Coaster

I used to love the excitement
the anticipation while standing in line
butterflies fluttering inside
energy from those around
speeding thrills of going up, up, up
then all the way down

Now my mind has changed
I’m not fond of this new ride I’m on
No ticket bought, just stumbled upon
Too chilling for my aching heart
Thrills turn to fear
Please let me off before I fall apart

      • You very welcome and thank you for the hugs. You know you can email me anytime. I had email you awhile back and havent heard back from you. So lil worry, but your in my prayers always.. God Bless 🙂

      • I understand… I’m behind on blog visiting. I try and visit as many from my phone and comment and post as much as possible. I be looking out for it. I didn’t want to bother emailing you again while in hospital because figure you had a lot going on… you very welcome… Just take it easy and get to it when you get the chance. Long as I see a post from you on blog world or read comment from you. I less worry, hope that makes sense… God Bless 🙂

  1. People used to scoff at me when I said I preferred the merry-go-round to the roller coaster; then they got on one and had trouble getting off. They too became believers. Good post.

    • One day at a time, Soma! 🙂 The ride’s definitely not good for the nerves or emotions, but trying to keep the faith and think positive…sending you love and hugs, too, my friend and sista! 🙂

  2. Wonderful writing, Lauren. I love the woven metaphor – it’s power weaving its way upwards in such a few short lines. xoxo

  3. Oh Lauren this is so beautifully written. And I so very often feel like this.

I sense all may not be well but I may be wrong. Sending lots of love to you my lovely friend, you know where I am ❤

  4. This is lovely and affecting, Lauren – the metaphor is so well used. Sometimes you have to let yourself down in terms of trying to be strong. I am sending you lots of love and hugs, as I know many others are, too. Hopefully things will take an upturn very soon. Prayers for healing as it is needed. XO ♥

    • Thanks, Diane, I value your feedback, my friend..the words poured out in about ten minutes, so it’s no masterpiece, but expresses how I’m feeling. Thanks also for your love, hugs and much needed prayers…xoxo

Your thoughts are always welcome!
