I long to be your only star
within your sky of dreams
I ask you to open your heart
repair the broken seams
I apologize for words unsaid
for those said time and again
To hurt you was not my intention
I often wonder how you’ve been
I only wish to see you smile
hear you laugh among the trees
I only long to hold you close
feel your breath beside the breeze
Chances don’t come freely
I know this in my heart
My plea you’ll hear one more time
to keep us ne’er apart

Hi Lauren,
I havent seen it before and even if I had I would be delighted to read it again. Poetry should be read over and over especially one as lovely as this! It’s just beautiful, both your words, how they flow, and the sentiments woven among them.
Love and lots of hugs
Christine xxxx
I’m touched by your comment, Christine, thanks so much, my friend! Zillions of hugs and love to you, too! xoxo
Sometimes things are better read or seen the second time around…like this one!
I have winter block as well. It will pass eventually. Sending you hugs a plenty! xxx

Thanks so much, Edward, for including my poem in your romantic post. I’m truly honored!
It’s a beautiful poem Lauren and actually you re-posting is a good idea. I’m sure all agree with me that reading your work more than once is always a pleasure.
Thanks so much, Scott, I appreciate your encouragement!
I don’t remember seeing this, Lauren, and am so glad you have reposted as it is quite beautiful! And writers block … it is an ‘affliction’ I certainly empathize with … XO ♥
Thanks so much, Diane, and I think I’m slowly coming out of this phase of writer’s block, for a little bit, at least. Although, who knows if anything will be enjoyed or not? The joy of blogging insecurity! I can’t imagine you ever being afflicted with it, either, Diane, your writing and art are truly amazing! xoxo
I don’t mind a second serving for one as beautiful as this, Lauren. Many hugs and blessings to you from me! 🙂
Your comment made my evening, Cynthia, thank you! I’m never quite sure if it’s a good move to re-post or not, but when I don’t have anything new to share, I just take the chance and hope for the best! 🙂 Many hugs and blessings over your way, too! xoxo
I love this! Such a great rhythm and I really love these lines: “I only wish to see you smile/ hear you laugh among the trees.” Thank you for reposting and for making me smile.
Thanks so much, Sheila, and I have to admit that the lines you chose were my favorites, too…I’m happy to make you smile anytime! Hugs!
