Letters float with clouds in the sky
while it’s vital that I focus and drive
Inspiration has its own timing
and it’s not always perfectly aligning
I’m not penning while watching the road
yet, containing my thoughts in some crazy code
and just when I felt they were safely concealed
they drifted away on kite’s tail over field

Can you relate?
🙂
Oh…. I relate. The writings the world misses, because eyes, hands, and life would just be too full and busy 😉
Glad you can relate, Lisa, thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Some thoughts just seem to disappear forever, but God keeps all the precious ones safe for us. 🙂
Sending you love and hugs xoxo
That is so true and a good way to look at it, thanks, Deb! Love and hugs to you, too! xoxo
Have no idea how many ‘great’, ‘fantastic’, and ‘YES!’ writing ideas have vanished when I finally get out of the car.
I know, it’s pretty funny when we think about it! Thanks, Steve, for stopping by! 🙂
Lauren! Haha, that’s me everyday. I have a drive to my office that’s 1.5 hours and I write so many things in my mind that I forget the moment I’m in front of a PC. Very creative how you wrote this. Blessings and hugs my friend
Thanks so much, Scott, and it is funny how so many thoughts slip away! Hugs and blessings back to you!
This is lovely Lauren. It made me smile. It usually happens o me if I wake up in the middle of the night! Lol
Love and hugs xx
Thanks, Christine, I’ve had that happen, too, and right now I don’t have paper by the bed! 🙂 Hugs and love to you, too, my friend! xoxo
Glad to see you back, Lauren. Love this, such a reminder of how we live our life. 🙂
Thanks so much, SS! I’m glad you enjoyed this little bit of humor and life! 🙂
This is Great, Lauren!! Yes, I can relate–though I don’t drive, a poem will often start as I’m in the middle of something, without pen and paper (like when I’m about to cross the intersection!). Trying to hang onto the “code”, as you put it–or just enough of the seed in the first 2 lines–can be tricky, for sure! Have a blessed day–love, sis Caddo
Thanks, Sis! It’s funny how we try to hold onto those thoughts as best as we can…and it’s a blessing, like you said, if we can even remember a beginning! Hope your day is a blessed one, too! xoxo
Oh boy do I relate. Well penned my friend!
Thanks, Christy! xoxo 🙂
Yes I certainly can. Boy oh boy I can. 🙂
Glad you can, Kim! 🙂
TOTALLY! Some of my best poems have come from driving and I all I do while inspiration hits me between traffic, I smile — passer-by’s may think of me as a certified lunatic — then my lunacy comes on the blog in a form of absolute non-logic poetry as you reckon my writings! I loved this witty humour, but….so much! love & hugs, my smiley friend!
Well, I love your writing, no matter when your muse visits, Shaheen, and I’m glad you like the humor; it adds spice to our days! Love and hugs to you, too, my other smiley friend! xoxoxo
Thank you, am humbled, dear Lauren! Love ya. Many hugs.
Pity you didn’t have a tape recorder or could dictate into your cell phone, but remember to pull off the road first.
That would be good and yes, I would pull off the road! 🙂
Oh, you *know* I can sympathize!
Yes I do! 🙂
This sure made me smile Lauren…I can so seriously relate! 🙂 Hugs
Thanks, Gabby, and I’m happy you can relate, too! Hugs back! 🙂
You captured what all of us have encountered and will continue to encounter.
Perhaps we should simply relish such moments – perhaps, these moments are meant for an audience/reader of one…
Thanks, Eric, and I love your insight, too! Hope you are well! Hugs!
Perfectly captured, Lauren! If we don’t write the lines down they are gone 🙂
Hugs, Francina xoxo
Thanks, Francina, it’s funny how quickly we forget, but thinking we won’t forget! 🙂 xoxo
I will now look at clouds in a new way, Lauren. Imaging what the letters say. Who they are for. AND for inspiration. Again lovely thoughts from your beautiful mind. XXOO V.
Aww…thank you, Virginia, you have a heart of gold! xoxoxo
Beautiful piece Lauren!
Thanks, PJ! xoxo
You very welcome Lauren… God Bless 🙂
Inspiration has its own timing I like your words
Thank you so much and for your visit, too! 🙂
The muse is truly an unreliable, often rude, little beast…
Yes, she is! Thanks for stopping by, Lindy! 🙂
I’m blessed to have a driver and a little journal, thus the muse and I always share perfect mood and timing together.
Aww…well that is wonderful for your fans so we never miss a lovely word from your loving heart! Sending hugs to you, Sis! xoxo
Yes – I do think ideas and words drift through the air and if we’re lucky we can pluck them out. If things are too crazy at the time though, remembering them later can be tricky and can even be the cause of slight insanity. 🙂
Glad you can relate, too, then I don’t feel alone, Sheila! 🙂
The muse’s timing is almost always inopportune. That’s why it’s so precious, I guess. But it can be annoying, too, and sometimes dangerous if I’m driving.
Yes, to all your thoughts…Thanks for visiting, Marylin!
You hit the nails on the head with this one, been inspired by lots but unable to record it, so try startegies to help remember it, then get lost in the strategy and can’t fiind a way back (until I’m typically not trying to) to the inspiration.
Thank you! I guess if words are meant to be saved, we’ll find a way. If not, maybe they just weren’t the best, who really knows? But, I’m glad you could relate and thanks so much for your visit, too!
I can definitely relate. If the words that are shapped in our minds do not find a form to be carried out through pen and paper or speech, then they were not meant to be. That is my honest opinion. 🙂 Beautiful writing. I love your blog already!
I agree with you and thanks so much for your kind words…I will visit you soon, too!
Lauren 🙂
Yes Lauren that is what happens to me. Thank you for reminding me about this beautiful, thoughtful post. XXOO Virginia
You’re welcome and thanks for reading…xoxo
