A Garden’s Enemy – Haiku

I.

multiplying like
playful bunnies, at least they’re
a nice shade of green

II.

their desire is
similar to ours, you see,
the warmth of the sun

III.

safety in numbers
invading where blooms should be
their defense is strong

    • Thanks, Gabby, it’s been cold here, but not like your winter! When I look out my kitchen window, I see a meadow of beautiful green weeds! Ugh! It’s almost that time! 🙂 Love and blessings for you today! 🙂

    • Thanks, Christine, I was inspired after looking out my kitchen window yesterday! It’s almost time to start pulling and that’s not my top choice on things to do! But, once I get started, I’m on a roll! 🙂 Hugs to you! xoxo

    • Thanks, Scott, and spring will be a nice change, although these weeds aren’t welcomed, but seem to visit each year! Looking out the kitchen window, they’re in full view, but soon enough, there will be beautiful blooms again! 🙂

  1. I to looked out my kitchen window, Lauren. Dense fog cloaked the garden and obliterated the sun. Four days without sun. In desperation I started raking about the garden looking for the first sign of spring flowers. Nothing. Perhaps tomorrow.

    • Well, we’ve had a lot of sun, but today it’s raining..maybe over the weekend, I’ll attempt to do some weed pulling! I hope you find some blooms, too, Virginia! It’s always nice to see you here and I’ll be over your way soon! Hugs!

  2. Precision at its’ best in this poem! Superb contrast and flow is incredibly smooth. Way to go gal, your writings are a thrill — as always! And, well, I like the pic of you and hubby (above on main page of your blog!), may God continue His blessings to you and sire ! xxoxoox

    • Oh, you are just too kind, Shaheen! Thank you for all of your lovely words…looking forward to spring, but the weeds have got to go! 🙂 And thank you regarding our photo (24 years ago). Oh to be young again! 🙂 I send you much love and many hugs, too, my friend! xoxo

Your thoughts are welcome!
