One and Only

Her heart sings when he says her name
The tiniest things ignite their flame
A simple gesture he does is grand
The simplicity of taking her hand
He makes her smile when he holds the door
Old fashioned and thoughtful, which she adores
Her breath catches when he holds her close
Sensations slide to the tips of her toes
When she wakes in the morn and hears him breathe
It’s that very moment she truly believes

  1. Lauren, you never cease to amaze me at how a long-time married lady such as yourself can be so head-over-heels in love. So blessed are you among women! Thanks you so much for sharing this joy with us and brightening up all our days.

    • Well, I’m very blessed and lucky and I certainly hope I’m not alone in the way I still feel about my husband and the way his feelings are the same for me. I wish long lasting love for everyone; I truly do! Thanks so much for your continued friendship and inspiration, Rose, and I honestly don’t know how I missed these last few comments! πŸ™‚

  2. I love this. It reminds me of the lovely couples I know who were married 50, 60 and 70 years. It truly is the simplest things which remind us how much we love and are loved.
    Red.

    • Thanks so much, Red. My parents would have been married 67 years on February 24th, but Mom passed away on February 2nd. My hubby and I have been married 23 years and hope for many more years to come…I’m sorry I missed your comment! I seem to have missed a few! Have a wonderful day and I will see you later today! The tough part about blogging is not being able to keep up with everyone’s wonderful posts! πŸ™‚ Hugs!

Your thoughts are always welcome!
